Russell and Ciara met at a Wisconsin game in March 2015. Russell was interested in Ciara, which prompted him to ask her on a date. The date was successful, and Russell knew that Ciara would be the lady in his life, the couple later revealed on Instagram Live (per BET).

Shortly after, the two made their first public appearance together at the White House Correspondents’ Dinner.

After dating for a little less than a year, Russell proposed to Ciara, and of course, she said, “Yes!” He asked her to be his wife while they were on vacation in the Seychelles.

After a few short months of being engaged, Russell and Ciara tied the knot in July 2016. The wedding was a private and intimate affair, attended only by close family and friends. It took place at Peckforton Castle in Cheshire, England. Russell also adopted Ciara’s son, Baby Future, as his stepson.
