San Francisco 49ers stars George Kittle and Kyle Jusczcyk leapt into the stands to celebrate scoring touchdowns with their wives as they led their team to a 36-24 win over Seattle Seahawks on Thursday night.
Kittle had just scored his second touchdown of the game but appeared to finish celebrating before teammate Jusczcyk pulled him back and pointed to the seats nearby.
Kittle immediately spotted his wife Claire, who was sat next to Jusczcyk’s partner Kristin. The teammates raced over together and leapt up to hug their wives, who were laughing hysterically.
Moments after Kittle scored, Jusczcyk got in on the act and celebrated his touchdown by leaping up towards Kristin and giving her his touchdown ball.
‘What a nice guy, great friend,’ Kittle, who turned 31 on Wednesday, joked on Amazon Prime of Jusczcyk reminding him of where his wife was sat. ‘Convenient that our wives were together. And then he did it – even better.’
Claire shared video of the moment, filmed by a nearby friend, to Instagram with the caption: ‘TOUCHDOWN GEORGE!! Package deal.’
Jusczcyk shared a video of the moment on her Instagram story with the caption: ‘Best night ever.’
Kristin even shared a video on social media before the game calling for her husband to celebrate with her if he got a touchdown.
‘Claire and I dying for one of Kyle and George to score,’ she said. ‘Come on! We are right here!’
The Thursday night victory takes the 49ers to 3-3 for the season, tied with the Seahawks at the summit of the NFC West.
Quarterback Brock Purdy threw 255 yards for three touchdowns, with Deebo Samuel also scoring a TD for his team from Purdy’s 76-yard touchdown pass.
There were still some nervy moments for San Francisco. The 49ers opened a 20-point gap early in the second half, only for the Seahawks to twice bring the game back within a score.
But in a further piece of good news for the Niners, their star running back Christian McCaffrey is expected to return to the team in November.
McCaffrey has missed every game for his team so far this season due to tendonitis in both of his Achilles.
Next, they face the Kansas City Chiefs on October 20 in a rematch of last season’s Super Bowl in California.
After that, they take on the Dallas Cowboys on Oct. 27 followed by a bye week, which could potentially end with McCaffrey returning against the Tampa Bay Buccaneers on November 10.
Last season, Kristin Jusczcyk designed Chiefs-themed jackets for Taylor Swift and Brittany Mahomes to wear at a playoff game against Miami Dolphins.
They had the jersey numbers of their partners, Patrick Mahomes and Travis Kelce, emblazoned across them.
